Prior to co-founding Makena Wailea Real Estate John owned and operated a number of restaurants, forming ties with local government and regulatory agencies, business owners, and the community at large. John demonstrates his commitment to the growth and enculturation of south Maui by participating in a number of charitable organizations and philanthropies. He has served on the board of Kihei Destination, a community development initiative; on the board South Maui Montessori School; and as a coach and entertainment director for the local park district.
